Greenwood

Welcome City of Greenwood Residents!

What is Changing?

To better serve our customers we are changing dates of pickup for our ONE Large Item collection program. Starting January of 2024, your ONE bulk item collection will be your 2nd pickup of each month, instead of the first pickup. Please refer to constablesanitation.com/bulk to view the calendar details. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this change.

Please note that there are a few things that are changing with the transition from your current hauler to Constable Sanitation:

Pickup day – the new pickup day for ALL residents will be Friday of each week with the exception of major holidays which may delay your pickup day to Saturday. Please click here to refer to the holiday schedule for delays.

Missed pickups – if your trash, recycling or yard waste is not picked up on Friday on non-holiday weeks, please call 816-204-1192 and press the option for Greenwood residents. The voicemail will instruct you to leave a message with your address and what item was missed and will ask you to leave the item at the curb for someone to come by and pickup on Saturday. This voicemail line is checked at 10am on Saturday mornings and a driver is dispatched out to have your item picked up by 1pm. You will be contacted by our office on Monday morning to confirm that your item was picked up on Saturday. On holiday weeks, please refer to the same system listed above but note that we will be by on Sunday to pickup any misses.

Large item pickup – you do not need to call or email us to let us know that you will be setting out a large item that second pickup of every month. Just set it at the curb and we will be by at some point on Friday to collect the item. You are now able to set out appliances. Please click here for a list of examples of items that are included. Additional large items can be picked up separately for a small fee – contact our office at 816-204-1192 or email our office manager Taylor at trash@greenwoodmo.com to schedule the additional pickup. Our large item program is designed to help residents easily dispose of items throughout the year versus saving everything up for a City Wide drop off. For this reason, the City Wide drop off program will no longer take place.

Christmas Tree Disposal – Christmas trees can be picked up with your regular yard waste anytime between December and March.

Holiday Schedule – Constable Sanitation observes 6 holidays – New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please click here for details on how the holiday schedule will affect your pickup day

Please refer to the list below for information and guidelines for all of your disposal needs:

Information about trash pickup

Constable Sanitation will provide each resident with a 95-gallon trash container (65-gallon available upon request). Constable Sanitation will pick up up to 10 bags of trash per week. We do not require all trash to fit inside of the 96 Gallon container. A 96 gallon container holds 6 bags of trash. Residents may set up to 4 additional bags next to their container for pickup. Residents may also use their own additional container. Please set all trash out either the night before your scheduled pickup day or by 7 a.m. the day of your pickup. We do not recommend setting out bags that do not fit inside the container the night before, rather the morning of to avoid any animals opening bags and creating liter

If you have extra recycling that will not fit inside of the 65 gallon recycling cart you can use your own cart and set out broken down boxes next the recycling cart. If a resident is choosing to use their own cart we ask that you contact our office and we will mail you recycling stickers to label your container. If a resident does not want to recycle they can contact Constable Sanitation at 816-204-1192 and we will dispatch the Greenwood Route Supervisor to pickup their cart.
